Men's Basketball:
As we gear up for the upcoming season, there is a tremendous sense of excitement around Colby Men’s Basketball. With the start of a new academic year, we’re thrilled to welcome our players back to campus and get to work. This fall marks my first season as head coach at Colby, and I couldn’t be more excited to lead this group of student-athletes. The support from the Colby community and basketball alumni has been incredible—not only to me, but to my entire family—and it has made this place feel like home from day one.
Our student-athletes have had a busy and productive summer. Whether through internships, travel, or summer jobs, they continue to represent Colby with excellence and ambition off the court. As we turn the page to a new chapter, I’m especially excited for our five incoming first-years who will soon experience what makes Colby so special—both academically and athletically. They bring talent, energy, and character that will be great additions to our program.
As we prepare for the season ahead, we are deeply grateful for the continued support of our alumni, families, and friends. Every contribution—whether through time, encouragement, or financial giving—has a meaningful impact on our program and our student-athletes. Your generosity directly supports our ability to provide a first-class experience both on and off the court. Thank you for being part of the Colby Basketball family. We can’t wait to see you at the Harold Alfond Athletics and Recreation Center this winter!

Women's Basketball:
We are so excited to welcome the team back to campus this fall! This year’s roster returns all 10 players from last season’s roster, a group that battled its way to the championship game, and we’re thrilled to add four talented and driven first-year student-athletes who bring valuable depth, energy, and skill to our program.
Over the summer, our players have been relentless in their commitment to improvement—sharpening their skills on the court, strengthening and maintaining team connections, and ensuring sure our newcomers already feel at home in the Colby Basketball family. I’m so proud of the dedication, consistency, and leadership they’ve shown, and I cannot wait to see all that this special group will accomplish together this season.
Your support makes a tremendous difference in what we are able to provide our student-athletes. With the rising costs of travel, meals, leadership programming, and team bonding opportunities, every gift to our program has a direct impact. As we continue our pursuit of a NESCAC championship, the experiences we create off the court are just as critical as the preparation we put in on the hardwood. These moments help shape our players into better athletes and strong, confident, compassionate leaders.
We are deeply grateful for the support you’ve shown over the years and we promise to continue representing you and Colby College with great pride.
With gratitude and excitement,
Chenel Harris-Smith, Head Women's Basketball Coach
