Men's Ice Hockey:
The Colby College Men's Hockey team had a remarkable 2024–25 season, showcasing their talent and determination on the ice. The Mules finished with an impressive 14–6–6 overall record and a 8–5–5 record in the competitive NESCAC conference, earning a home playoff game and a trip to the NESCAC Quarterfinals. The team's defensive strength was a highlight, with goaltender Cooper Rautenstrauch ’28 earning recognition as a New England Hockey Writers Association (NEHWA) Division II–III All-Star.
The Mules also demonstrated their commitment to academics, with a number of student-athletes named to the NESCAC All-Academic and American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) All-American Scholars lists.
As we look toward the future, the program is buzzing with excitement. A significant part of that energy comes from the addition of a familiar face to the coaching staff. We are thrilled to welcome back alumnus John McElaney ’24 as the new assistant coach. McElaney's experience as a former Mule standout, two-time captain, and NESCAC All-Conference player will undoubtedly be an invaluable asset to the team, and his passion for Colby hockey will inspire our current and future players.
We extend our sincere thanks to all of the families, friends, and fans for their continued support throughout the year. Your presence in the stands and your unwavering encouragement mean the world to our student-athletes. We can't wait to see what the future holds for this program, and we look forward to having you with us every step of the way.

Women's Ice Hockey:
The past season was a fantastic one. We finished with an 18–7–2 record, earned our third NCAA Tournament appearance in four years, and made it to the NESCAC semifinals. These achievements are a testament to the hard work of our players and the strong culture they've built. We also celebrated individual successes, including my 100th career win and an All-American selection.
Your generosity directly impacts our program by allowing us to enhance team travel, invest in better equipment, and provide our student-athletes with the resources they need to excel both on the ice and in the classroom. This support allows us to compete at the highest level.
We are incredibly excited for the season ahead and are more determined than ever to build on our success. Thank you for believing in our team and for being an essential part of our journey. We hope to see you at one of our games this season!
