Alpine:
With a cold and snowy winter predicted, we are all fired up for 2025–26!
Colby Alpine returns All-Americans Harrison DiGangi ’27 (5th in NCAA SL) and Carissa Cassidy ’26 (9th in NCAA SL and EISA SL Champion), along with seven of their teammates from 2024–25. Harrison and Carissa are joined as captains by Teagan Turner ’26 and Topher Davenport ’26. With six incoming first year students, this will be the smallest alpine team since I came to Colby in 2020. This allows me and new assistant coach Max Godomsky (yes, that Max Godomsky!) more time to focus on each athlete’s individual development.
Athlete development will always be at the top of the list of priorities for Colby Skiing—and always has been. We are not typically locking up former national team skiers, so we need to help our athletes take the next step. To do this, we need to be able to offer our team appropriate coaching resources, a significant volume of training beginning with our trip to Colorado in November, and access to the right non-carnival races that provide opportunities for our team to score lower FIS-points and improve their start positions. The majority of our fundraising efforts are geared toward offering the type of enhancements that allow us to offer the very best programming in college skiing.

Nordic:
We are really excited for the year ahead! As it is always hard to see great skiers leave our program, we are looking forward to cheering on Jack Young ’25 (U.S. Ski Team), Erin Bianco ’22 (BSF), Gretta Scholz ’24 (Team Birkie), and Taiga Moore ’25 (Team Birkie) as they take the next big step in their skiing careers. If all goes well, we'll be cheering on some Mules in the 2026 Winter Olympics!
Looking ahead to our season, we are welcoming back NCAA qualifiers Andrew Defor ’27 and Maddie Hooker ’27. We are also welcoming an exciting first-year class that includes James Underwood, who was the top-ranked male skier in the east last year.
Friends of Colby Skiing has been crucial in supporting our athletes at the highest level. Travel to U.S. Nationals, training camps, competing in Eastern Cups, and enhancing our equipment and waxing budget has all been possible due to the generous support of our donors. Our goal is to keep Colby Skiing moving up the results sheet while providing a positive experience that they remember long after departing Mayflower Hill!
