Colby Hillel was recently honored with the Philip H. and Susan Rudd Cohen Outstanding Campus Award—one of the highest honors in Jewish campus life. Out of hundreds of Hillels nationwide, Colby was recognized for its extraordinary engagement: 72 percent of Colby’s Jewish students are connected to our community, with nearly one in three deeply involved.
What began as a small group of dedicated students is now setting the national standard for Jewish life on campus.
This past year, our Director of Jewish Student Life provided more than 100 pastoral care sessions, offering one-on-one support for students navigating the complexities of early adulthood. Through our Home Hospitality Shabbat program, students build intergenerational relationships with the Waterville community, extending their Jewish family far beyond the campus gates.
