Welcome to the Pugh Center, a space dedicated to fostering community, celebrating diversity, and empowering student voices. We imagine a campus where belonging is more than being included—it means knowing the space was created with you in mind. It means feeling deeply seen, valued, heard, and empowered to thrive.

This year, “The Pugh” is celebrating 30 years as an integral part of the Colby experience! Our vision is to foster a future where every student, especially those from historically marginalized backgrounds, can fully participate in shaping campus life.

Philanthropic support helps make this vision possible. Gifts to the Pugh Center may support our annual Pugh Student Leadership Retreat. This is an opportunity for leaders of each of the 13 student clubs housed within the Pugh Center to hone their leadership skills, engage in team-building exercises, and promote cross-club collaboration for future events.

Your donation may also help cover the cost of graduate and professional exams (e.g., GRE, MCAT, and LSAT) and prep courses for students within the Pugh community who have limited financial means.

Your gift may also be used to help alleviate the burden of increasing costs for one of many Get Acquainted with the Pugh (G.A.P.) Week activities. G.A.P. Week is a series of activities and events whose goal is to welcome first-year students to the Pugh, introduce the Pugh to students, faculty, and staff who may not be familiar with it, and encourage intentional engagement and connections with current Pugh Center club leaders and their members.
