Our Club Esports started small, catering to students who aren't traditionally known as athletes but instead gamers. Thus, our club extended the esports scene to support students who wanted to represent Colby College against other programs, like UMaine and other NESCAC schools.
We hope you support the Esports and Video Game Club as an up-and-coming program that seeks to break into the exploding esports industry. We hope to be part of the $4.78-billion industry that is built around competitive gaming, live esports, commercial partnership, and the sports betting market by supporting extremely motivated students in their competitive video games!
We are fundraising to provide official equipment and computers so that our students may have dedicated equipment and eventually a space to practice formally as a dedicated team. Currently, our students only come together informally with their own computers, which vary in specifications. With your support, we can help students who are interested in esports but who don't have the facilities or resources available to them.
As one of the fastest-growing organizations on campus, our club advances the mission of Colby Athletics and Recreation by supporting students through a modern style of competition that is gaining momentum globally. Beyond the screen, esports provides a holistic platform for students to challenge themselves competitively, mentally, and socially.
