Since its reorganization in 2021, Colby Club Men's Hockey has experienced unprecedented growth. While the club existed in an intramural capacity throughout the 2000s and 2010s, its move to the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and the New England Collegiate Hockey Association (NECHA) transformed the program. Playing a rigorous schedule of 16+ games across Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, we have quickly established ourselves as one of the premier Division III programs in the country. Last year alone, our season culminated in a conference championship, a #5 national ranking, and our second consecutive appearance at the ACHA National Tournament.
We are incredibly fortunate to have received amazing community support, which has been the cornerstone of our rapid development. While we receive foundational support from the Club Sports and Recreation Department, the high level at which we compete requires additional resources. Every donation contributes directly to our team's operational success—providing vital equipment, facilitating team-building opportunities, and ensuring we have the infrastructure necessary to compete with the best in the nation.
Our most significant fundraising milestones have been tied to our national tournament appearances in 2024 and 2025. To send a 20-man roster and coaching staff to St. Louis, Mo., we have successfully raised more than $20,000 annually to cover airfare, lodging, and tournament fees. As we work toward earning our third consecutive bid this season, the True Blue campaign serves as a critical opportunity to secure these funds. Beyond post-season travel, your support also helps offset the year-round costs of coaching, gear, uniforms, and gameday operations.
Colby Club Men's Hockey provides a rare and special opportunity for students to continue playing high-level competitive hockey while pursuing a world-class education. Spanning from September to March, our long season of weekly practices and games transforms our roster into a tightly-knit, supportive family. Interest in our program continues to climb, with many prospective student-athletes reaching out to the club before even applying to Colby.
