Founded in 2024, Colby Women’s Club Hockey was established to provide a dedicated space for women to pursue their passion for the sport in a welcoming yet highly competitive environment. The 2025–26 season marks our historic first year as official members of the Independent Women's Club Hockey League (IWCHL) and the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA). We are thrilled to share that we have remained undefeated so far in our debut season!
As this is our first official season, your support is vital to helping us “get on the ice and stay there.” Starting a new team involves many expected and unexpected costs, and every contribution—no matter the size—helps us create more opportunities for women to play the sport they love. Donations go directly toward the foundational needs of the program, including:
- Ice Time and League Fees: Securing rink time for practices and games, alongside ACHA and IWCHL dues.
- Game Day Operations: Funding for certified officials and referee fees.
- Travel and Equipment: Covering transportation costs for away games and providing essential gear and uniforms.
While previous club hockey opportunities at Colby were technically co-ed, the launch of a dedicated women’s program has exponentially expanded female participation in the sport. Despite being a new team, we have already become a closely bonded group of students from all backgrounds, united by the love of the game. We are incredibly excited to see how this program develops over the coming years, and we invite you to be a part of building this lasting legacy for Colby Women’s Hockey.
